Certain items are prohibited or restricted from air transport under IATA regulations, Transport Canada rules, and Flair Cargo policy. Review this list carefully before booking.

Prohibited items may result in shipment refusal, fines, or legal action.
Tendering a prohibited item without proper declaration is a serious offence under the Aeronautics Act. When in doubt, contact us before you ship.

Prohibited — No Exceptions

  • Explosives and fireworks (Class 1 dangerous goods)
  • Flammable liquids and solids (Class 3 & 4)
  • Toxic and infectious substances (Class 6)
  • Radioactive materials (Class 7)
  • Live animals of any kind
  • Human remains (non-cremated)
  • Weapons, firearms, and ammunition
  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Currency and negotiable instruments
  • Perishable items requiring refrigeration
  • Dry ice (CO₂ solid) without prior approval

Restricted — Pre-approval Required

requires prior authorization.

The following require written pre-approval and additional documentation before tendering:

  • Lithium batteries (standalone, not in device)
  • Magnetized materials
  • Dry ice (CO₂) — limited quantity rules apply
  • Aerosols — consumer quantity only
  • Medical specimens (non-infectious)
  • Alcohol and spirits — volume restrictions apply
  • Perfumes and colognes — limited quantity
